XR include GI intolerance and diarrhoea and rash, especially if it
is administered in setting of infectious mononucleosis. The
occasional side effects of Amoxicillin and clavulanate - Augmentin
XR include C. difficile colitis, hypersensitivity reactions
Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction with spirochetal infection and Drug
Fever. Among the rare reactions come the coomb’s test positive,
hemolytic anemia
Leukopenia and thrombocytopenia, CNS-seizures and twitching (with
high doses in patients with renal failure), Interstitial nephritis,
LFTs elevation.
Generally Augmentin XR is viable to be employed but Its use can have
some side effects in animal. This drug’s use should be avoided in
animals with a history of allergies to the drug. In some cases they
might throw up after the administration of this drug and it might
happen for ten% of the administered dogs. Therefore, it would be
beneficial for the animal if it’s given something to eat in a
minimal quantity before the administration of the drug. Contact your
